Aladdin comes to Al Ghurair City

Children visiting Al Ghurair City have been making a bee-line to the mall’s entertainment stage to get a glimpse of their favourite storybook character, Aladdin, the boy behind the legendary tale, Aladdin and the magic lamp.

Aladdin is yet another of the popular series of children’s characters that is being brought to Dubai’s premier shopping destination this DSS.

Dressed in his colourful costume, Aladdin has become an instant hit with children visiting Al Ghurair City, as he charms them with a musical treat. The rags-to-riches story of a young man who is tricked into retrieving from a secret cave a magic lamp with a Genie who can grant all wishes, has fascinated children for years.

The storybook hero is currently doing the rounds at the mall from 4pm to 8:30pm. He will be performing four 20-minute shows daily at the mall till 4th August before stepping out and making way for Woody Woodpecker, another cartoon favourite that Al Ghurair City will present during DSS. The final set of popular cartoon characters who will be coming to the mall are the Power Puff Girls. The show times are daily at 4:00pm, 5.30pm, 6.45pm and 8:00pm.

Mukta Sabharwal, a spokesperson for Al Ghurair City, said: “With DSS in full swing, we think this is the appropriate time to bring in another class act like Aladdin, who has already generated tremendous interest among families visiting Al Ghurair City. Going by the overwhelming response to the DSS activities held so far at Al Ghurair City, we are confident that Aladdin will be an even bigger attraction.

Al Ghurair City is hosting numerous other fun activities in addition to offering a range of the world’s best brands covering a wide range of merchandise including fashion, jewellery, watches and textiles, plus a variety of food catering to different tastes at its multi-cuisine food court.

The line-up of activities has been arranged to provide families a fun atmosphere during each DSS “Surprises”, where children can showcase their entertaining and educational skills at interactive science booths, ice cream competitions, and much more.

Al Ghurair City is also offering DSS shoppers spending a minimum of Dhs.200, or multiples thereof, the chance to win up to Dhs.5 million in prizes under the Shopping Escapade promotion organised by the Dubai Shopping Malls Group. Lucky shoppers can win Dhs. 50,000 daily and a grand prize of a luxury apartment at the end of DSS in September.
